Becoming a mother is a journey filled with dreams, expectations, and hopes. It is sunshine and rainbows and having great joy of bringing new life in the world. It is a beautiful experience! “When you see your baby and hold him for the first time you’re gonna fall in love, there is no other feeling like it”. That is what we have been sold; that is what I have been told. But what happens when your path takes an unexpected turn? What happens when this “wonderful” journey becomes the worst thing that you have ever experienced in life. My name is Shatha, and I want to take you on a deeply personal journey through my experience of entering motherhood, which involved challenges and obstacles I never could have anticipated.
The moment I found out I was pregnant was a mixture of anticipation and fear. I was not ready, my life was taking off and I was ready for the next level of my career…not a baby. While I feared the journey, I expected it to be just like any other “normal” pregnancy. Little did I know that my journey into motherhood would be marked by pain, misery and peak with an emergency C-section due to placental abruption.
In this blog series, I’ll share the highs and lows, the tears and smiles, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I hope that my story will resonate with other mothers who have faced unexpected challenges in their journey into motherhood. Together, we can find strength in our shared experiences and celebrate the beautiful, messy, and unpredictable adventure of becoming a mother.
Join me as we dive into the world of parenting and “Walk these Motherhood Streets” Together, we’ll explore the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless love that defines the beautiful chaos of motherhood.
